Say if Japan had it’s military back in ww2 when Japan was at it’s most powerful. and North Korea was still communist right now, and North Korea launched a rocket over Japanese territory and Japan shoot it down, and North Korea then attacks Japan. then Japan decides to invade North Korea again, but Japan leaves South Korea alone.

  29. Racists who want to insult Japan often tell that Japanese people can only copy foreign countries’ invention and don’t have any original invention. Even today, an American racist told “There aren’t many original inventions of Japan” in this section. Do you think so?
Even in 19th century, Japanese people invented many things but they were not admitted in western countries.
    The reasons were:
    – Westerners ignored academic papers written in Japanese.
    – Japanese people didn’t know patenting.
Then, I will write some inventions by Japanese here. Could you point it out if you can’t agree with it?
And, do you think there aren’t many original inventions of Japan?

    – General anesthesia (operation for breast cancer): Seishu Hanaoka, 1804
    – Myriad year clock: Hisashige Tanaka (the founder of Toshiba), 1851
    – Dry Cell: Sakizo Yai, 1887 (finished product).
    * Note: Yai didn’t published academic papers, and didn’t patent until 1891. So, this was not known in western countries until his dry-battery was exhibited in World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893. Then, the official first inventor is Gassner in 1886 (only design).
    – Vitamin: Umetaro Suzuki, 1910
    * Note: He wrote academic papers in Japanese. But, there was a mistranslation when translating into German, and it was ignored in western societies. Then, the official first inventor was Funk in 1912.
    – Machine-powered looms: Sakichi Toyoda, 1924 (the founder of TOYOTA group)
    – The first working television: Kenjiro Takayanagi, 1926
    * Note: He didn’t patent. His invention was almost ignored in western societies but they stole Takayanagi’s idea for free.
    – Yagi-Uda antenna (VHF/UHF): Shintaro Uda of Tohoku University, 1926
    * Note: The radar and TV broadcast couldn’t be developed if this wasn’t exist.
    – Gastoroscopy: Olympus, 1950
    – Snap-off-blade utility knife: OLFA in 1956.
    – Air bag (current system): Yasuzaburou Kobori, 1963
    – Quartz watch: SEIKO, prototype in 1967 (the first commercial product in the world was in 1969.)
    – Beta max/VHS: Sony, 1975; Victor, 1976
    – Flash memory: Fujio Masuoka of Toshiba, 1980
    – Litium ion battery: Akira Yoshino of Asahi Kasei, 1985 (the commercial product was in 1991 by Asahi Kasei and Sony)
    – Blue LED: Nichia Chemical, 1993
    – CD, DVD, Blu-ray (mainly Japanese)

In case of micro processor, Intel was the first inventor (Intel 4004). However, Intel was a subcontractor of Busicom (Japanese calculator company), and 4004 was a project by Busicom. And, the logic circuit of the 4004 was designed by Masatoshi Shima of Busicom. Intel bought the license of the 4004 from Busicom. Busicom was also the first inventor, wasn’t it?

And, the origin of Japanese robot technology was this (19th century).
