Godzilla Official Trailer

This epic monster movie reboot has been taken to a whole new level as the legend battles a fellow beast… MUTO!

Godzilla is…HUGE

We’d already got an idea of the scale of the legendary monster, but seeing it in this latest clip blows our minds. Up until now, fans had seen glimpses of the beast emerging from the depths – well, you ain’t seen nothing yet. When it’s clashing with another monster and still looks gargantuan, you know it’s something special.

There’s more to the movie than meets the eye

Monsters, earthquakes, floods, oh my

Previous trailers gave us the impression this movie would see Godzilla on the rampage, terrorizing the world and leaving destruction in its path. We’ll still be getting that, of course, but shots of nuclear explosions, tsunamis and much more mean the blockbuster is sure to exceed any expectations.

Someone’s hiding something

Must be something big

We’re not sure exactly who’s hiding what, but it’s clear from the trailer that something “real” is being “guarded so carefully”. No news on who’s hiding the mysterious new winged beast, but we doubt they’ll be happy with their pet running amok – unless that was the plan all along?

Godzilla isn’t alone

The winged Muto, perhaps?

The “something” that’s been hidden turns out to be another monster – setting up the movie nicely for some incredible fight scenes. From what our research tells us, the mysterious beast is a winged Muto created for the film, so fans will be looking at the unknown as Godzilla faces a new foe. It definitely adds a new dimension to the movie, as we noted earlier, and we can’t wait to see the two titans clash on the big screen.

He’s not a monster, he’s a god

Are you ready?

As people look a bit worried at the giant winged beast terrorizing the globe, they realize they need something to kill it. Their solution? Godzilla, obviously – but it seems much more significant than anyone anticipated.

“A monster,” it’s suggested. “No. A god.” We can’t wait.

*Godzilla is set for release on Friday 16 May 2014 and stars Kick-Ass actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Juliette Binoche, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins

  1. I know at the end of some films he just walked off and other films he was killed, so how many times did he die, or get knocked out for a really long time?

  2. Who wins? Earth’s greatest monster, or the universe’s best hunter. I say Godzilla. What do you think?

  3. 1) Does any one know if the Japanese Version of Godzilla 1985 will ever be released?

    2) The current releases of Godzilla movies. The ones with the nice packaging. How far up in the series are they going to go?

    3) What’s your favorite Godzilla movie?
    Godzilla 1985 on dvd, sorry

  4. Very big let down after seeing the trailer where he crushes the t rex skeleton in the museum. I expected for Godzilla King of Monsters to be killing thousands, and burning NYC down but instead he was running, digging and laying eggs for 2 hours + of mental torture.

  5. I was searching up time lines and they all really confused me, is there an official time line where Godzilla acts as somewhat of a hero?
Time line as in, a specific order of movies, not just one movie.

  6. I want to get a good Godzilla movie BUT THERE’S SO MANY I DON’T KNOW WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE 🙁 please help me.

  7. What was the title of the last Japanese Godzilla movie, and does anyone know anything about a new American Godzilla movie being made?

  8. Who do you think will win the battle between Harry Potter and Godzilla in a “fair” fight?

  9. If there was a fight between the Kraken and Godzilla who do you think would win?

  10. What do you think of the Japanese Godzilla?

  11. I bought this movie but did not watch the whole thing. japanese people were talking and then run to a dock and see a huge egg in the sea. that is when i turned it off

  12. I’m looking for a dvd of Godzilla 1985. Amazon only has the japanese version and Ebay only has dvd-r’s of it. I would really like to find an offical DVD of it. If anyone knows a reliable site that I can buy it off of I’d really like to know. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid but I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Any help would be awesome. Thanks all!!

  13. How does Godzilla able to fly with his mouth exhaust?

I saw an episode where he escaped by throwing jet of flames out of his mouth and flying backwards.

I think this would be aerodynamically impossible as he would rotate is a circle, rather than flying off straight back and escaping.

    Can anone explain this?

  14. Just a thought that popped in my head… what is the origin of Godzilla? I mean, the monster in general and not the whole Godzilla franchise. Is “he” a dinosaur resurrected from fossils? A failed science experience? Or simply a monster with no history or origin at all? Just curious.
I meant DETAILS of his history. Exactly how did he come about?

  15. What if Godzilla was real and just attacked Japan? Would you go and help the people hurt and deing? and would you try to help to stop and kill Godzilla?
or would you just stay at home, do nothing and pray that Godzilla does not show up on your shores?
    yes ESweetPea, it is.

  16. Who wins? Earth’s greatest monster, or the universe’s best hunter. I say Godzilla. What do you think?

  17. He is on a roll this week. How should I get my own back on him?
He wrote Godzilla on a post it note, stuck it to my head then told me to consider it a compliment and that he could have called me hitler. What a child!

  18. Who wins? Earth’s greatest monster, or the universe’s best hunter. I say Godzilla. What do you think?

  19. if pokemon featured a version that incorporated godzilla kaiju, what would be the starters?

    godzilla (water)
    rodan (fire)
    ___ (grass)???

    tell me what you think
and i dont want mothra to be the grass type because i want it to be a beautifly/butterfree type pokemon
    haha

++++ should it be called Pokemon: Atomic Version? i dont think there are enough kaiju to make a “plutonium” and “uranium” version hahah

  20. 1. Which kaiju has Godzilla fought but never beaten before?

    2. Would this be an awesome fight: Godzilla vs. Gamera.

  21. A message appears above my IE browser which says “hacked by Godzilla” .What the heck is that ?How can I get rid off that ?Pls Hlp!!!
    Thanks…

  22. By hook or by crook 😉 I finally obtained all the Godzilla movies and have been having a blast re-watching all of them.

I noticed, however, something that I never paid attention to as a child watching the older versions and leading up to the newer ones … He started out as something bad that needed to be destroyed, gradually turned into some sort of anti-hero that would show up to defeat other monsters and villainous enemies such as aliens and the like, and then when Return of Godzilla came out they sort of rebooted him to the state of monster villain again that had to be destroyed at all costs.

Question: What made them change from the ‘bad” Godzilla to the “good” Godzilla and go back to the “bad” one again? Were the ones with him as the “hero” not as popular or is there some other underlying reason?

    Just curious. 🙂

Any fans of Big “G” out there that have an answer or opinion on the subject?

    Thanks.

  23. i’ve done all of the steps and i think i’ve vemoved the godzilla virus… however when i try to open C: i get an error message saying “can not find script file “c:ms32dll.dll.vbs””
i have windows xp home edition….

  24. My dad tells me from when he lived in Japan he has seen a lizard that people called Godzilla but not like the movie version more like a camodo dragon that stands on its back legs its kinda wierd though because my dad isnt japanese I just want to make sure my dad isnt lieing again

  25. To all True GOJIRA Fans!!! This has got to be the Greatest Mystery Of All Times! I’m sure we’ve all seen Son Of Godzilla and wondered: Where did the giant egg come from, and is Godzilla the Mother or Father of Minya???

    What do you think?

  26. Okay, so I was just wondering if anyone had a definative response to just how tall Godzilla is?
It seems that the size of this thing fluctuates greatly from movie to movie, and from era to era.
In 1954 Gojira (that’s the Japanese name) was said to be 50 meters tall, which works out to about 160 feet or so, however, in the most recent movies, up to and includeing Final Wars, the monster appears to be much, much taller, as do the things that battle against it.
Was something changed as the gnerations of Godzillas went by? Or did I miss something?
So, to reiterate, my question is: How tall is Godzilla?
Please, no one point out that this is a Japanese man in a rubber suit, therefore likely only about 7 feet tall. I am aware of this.

  28. alright i know this question is asked alot a while back but i just got donw watching a bunch of godzilla movies and cloverfield. Who would win? i bet most of you would say godzilla because of his atomic breath thingy. Just think about it though they leveled new york. Its completely gone and the clover field monster is not dead yet. And i know its the same with godzilla, missles cant really do anything, so i think it would be a pretty fair fight if not a tie maybe clover because with them giant arms could just pick up godzilla and chuck him any where. But i would like to see what you guys think, tell me who you would think would win and back up your answers.

alright and thank you for answering.
yes true but think about it, the clover field monster is not much smaller then godzilla, and we bomb the hell out of clover, we leveled new york, so i dont think that godzillas atomic blast would do much, and we also have to take all them paracites that clover has into the matter also.

  34. First, I wanna specify that I don`t have any hatred for this film–yes, it is absolutely inferior to the original Toho films, but taken as something other than a serious attempt at a Godzilla film, its not an all-too-terrible sci-fi B-movie. My thoughts, having just seen it for the first time, is that it was Roland Emmerich`s answer to Jurassic Park–a `nature gone wild` piece not unlike Syfy`s Maneater films. I didn`t particularly ccare for the look of Godzillla in this film–they (spoiler alert) appeared to be cheap knockoffs to Stan Winston`s velociraptors. Actually, one of the fatal flaws of this movie is how much they showed the monster. I think Cloverfield is what this film should have looked like if they did it right. Your thoughts?

  35. Hi, I’m doing an essay to show that Archetypes still occur in today’s society. One of the example i am trying to use is Godzilla but I’m having a hard time finding out what kind of Archetype he is. Any help will help.

  42. I am 40 years old and I recently admitted to being excited about Godzilla coming out next year. I was surrounded by people rolling their eyes and am now wondering if the monster I grew up loving is a lost cause.

  44. Okay, I know that this movie is kind of old, but I am confused about that was the baby godzilla egg ever Godzilla’s son. Others said that it was another kind of Rodan that laid the egg, but was it Godzilla that laid the baby godzilla egg? Also, was Rodan half brother with baby godzilla and wasn’t it the egg that hatched before they found baby godzilla. I am kind of confused about this. Also there was this song that they singed from baby godzilla’s egg with the ancient plants which made Rodan stronger and it made baby godzilla stronger, but was the baby godzilla egg laid from another Rodan. Please answer this.

  45. Does it ever say the motives behind Godzilla’s attack in the 1954 movie?
If so, do you know where (beginning, middle, end, possibly with time?)
If not, does it ever say how he has no motive in the movie?
Also, is there a newer godzilla that does show his motives?
    Thanks!

  57. I always thought that people sometimes called it Gojira because it sounds like how someone with an asian accent would pronuonce ‘Godzilla’, but now people are telling me that it actually was oringinally called Gojira. So was it changed to Godzilla in America because of they thought the same thing I was with the accent? just curious

  58. I want to know the entire cycle of Godzilla Generations, including his son. This is what i already know: Godzilla is created, he dies after the first movie, then is reborn in the second movie….then dies again in godzilla vs destroyah(1990’s), then is reborn in Godzilla 2000. Then dies again in Godzilla Giant monsters all out attack(The one with the all white eyes)(if that movie counted) Then is obviously reborn in Godzilla vs Mega Godzilla(2002)

Am i missing anything? feel free to tell me the entire Godzilla life cycle, How many sons does he have? Why is he always getting reborn? How many times has he died and been reborn? This question is for a true Godzilla fan.
